Frequently Asked Questions

There are many ball training routines that you can use with a medicine ball. This piece of equipment is ideal for building strength and working your core abdominals. Our medicine balls are sand filled and feature a PU leather, non-slip textured surface for extra grip. These balls are also ideal for rehabilitation purposes and there are many sizes available. Most medicine balls cannot be used in the same way as slam balls, and slam balls are designed to withstand explosive strength, mostly against the floor.

Fitness slam balls are versatile and can be used for most medicine ball exercises. The slam ball encourages you to use your full body as you throw thus, engaging your muscles and giving you cardio benefits. Slam balls are weighted, rubber-coated balls that are designed to be slammed on a flat surface but feature a no-bounce design to ensure you and your fellow trainers stay safe.

Depending on how you use slam balls and what muscles you’re trying to target, slam balls can provide several benefits to your health and your core engagement.

You’re not short on exercise routines if you want to get into shape with a medicine ball! Here are our top favourite routine exercises to get your blood flowing.

Knee lifts with a medicine ball strengthens your upper- and lower-body strength and stability. Depending on your strength and level of fitness, hold a weighted ball overhead with both hands. Keeping your body straight, lift the right knee up to waist level while bringing the arms down, touching the weight to the knee, ensuring you maintain control of the ball. Repeat with the opposite knee.

Squat and sweep is a great full-body exercise that strengthens your core muscles. Stand with feet hips-width apart and hold a heavier weighted ball overhead. Squat as low as you can, keeping your back straight, send the hips backwards and touch the ball to the floor, if you can. Continue to keep your back straight as you stand back up. Lower and repeat, moving quickly, but still maintaining control of the weight. Add a toss at the end for more intensity. Repeat for 30–60 seconds.

Slam and medicine balls are great for those who want to add alternative training into their workout instead of using dumbbells or bar weights.
